Autograph letter signed, dated : Vienna, 1 February 1869, to an unidentified friend, 1869 Feb. 1.

Saying that the recipient's letter and its voluminous appendage arrived safely, mentioning Titus [Mozart's Clemenza di Tito], saying that Pohl received the package, thanking the recipient for the Fux copies, sending greetings to Fürstenau, saying he has heard of the recipient's glory at the performance of [Wagner's] Die Meistersinger [von Nürnberg] but expressing regret that the fame must be paid for so dearly, etc.
